They stopped producing silver coins and replaced the image of Lady Liberty with that of our 34th president, Dwight Eisenhower.
This marked the end of the silver era for one-dollar coins, as they were now composed of a copper core and an outer shell of copper and nickel. However, in 1979, the Mint made another important design change by featuring Susan B. Anthony, a civil rights defender, on the obverse. This was the first time that an American woman was depicted on a circulating coin.But it was not until 1794 that the first one-dollar coin was minted by the United States Mint.
Known as the Flowing Hair Silver dollar, this coin is extremely rare with fewer than 120 believed to exist today. The 1870 Seated Liberty silver dollar is also highly prized due to its remarkably small S-shaped mint mark, which is considered a mistake. Only about 9,000 of these coins have been preserved in all grades, making it extremely rare in mint and gem condition.Moving on to the 1803 Draped Bust dollar, this coin has several varieties, with the "Small 3" variety being the most valuable.
This variety is distinguished by the unusually small number 3 on the date, which lacks the additional serif in the top bar. Today, there are only about 15 copies of the 1804 Draped Bust dollar known to exist. This coin has an interesting history as it was minted in 1834 with the date 1804 for special mint sets to be given as gifts to representatives of foreign governments. This makes it one of the most expensive coins in the world.The 1796 silver dollar also has several varieties, with the most popular being the one with a large date and lowercase letters on the back.

Another rare Morgan dollar is the 1976 Eisenhower dollar, which was produced without a mint mark. These coins were part of a design contest held by the Mint for the Bicentennial dollar, half dollar, and quarter.
